This was the sort of film that grinned while setting fire to the rulebook. Ashish channelled his anger at broken systems into irreverence, absurdity and two spectacularly ill-equipped young men. I’m especially proud of the casting, which unearthed several spectacular talents who went on to become industry staples. My job was to back the madness without domesticating it, a joyful reminder that satire works best when it comes from genuine rage.
