Habaddi began with a boy whose speech made the world underestimate him, and Nachiket, the filmmaker who never did. The sport gave the story movement, but its real victory was the dignity with which it saw its young protagonist. Producing it meant protecting that affectionate gaze and ensuring that a child need not be “fixed” before he can become a hero.
