Nikhil took one man’s desperate wish to escape his life and followed it to its most gloriously absurd conclusion. Beneath the dark comedy was an acutely observed frustration with money, masculinity and the fantasy of starting over. Producing it meant trusting the film’s wicked logic, that the more Brij ran from himself, the more recognisable he became.
