Devashish refused the usual comforts of a revenge story, placing an elderly woman at its centre and letting her resolve, not rhetoric, drive the film. Working on Ajji meant standing behind a vision that was unsparing but never empty, its anger rooted in a world that had decided some lives mattered less. Kudos to Mirat for a spectacular script.
